Introduction

In keeping with the principles of accreditation, UAB has modified its operational systems and data warehouse to provide visitors to this site with current data. We have incorporated those data that were essential to the Compliance Audit into daily operations. In so doing we have also improved the quality of the processes required to collect and maintain those data.

 Faculty and Courses

The Faculty Credentials reporting system presents all the information required for examining the qualifications of faculty. The list includes all faculty whether or not they have taught a course in any term beginning with the spring term of the 2003-2004 academic year. In cases where a faculty member has taught, the courses are listed and linked to the course details. The Course Listing reporting system lists courses within academic units by term. Each course lists the faculty associated with it. Each faculty name is linked to the faculty credentials.

The data behind the report are being extracted from the operational systems and other feeds into the data warehouse. This will ordinarily occur on a nightly basis. The updates will stop from September 10 to November 10 to provide reviewers with a stable data set. The data will be updated in November so the reports can be used in daily institutional operations.

Outcomes Assessment

The Outcomes Assessment reporting system presents all the data that have been collected in the UAB Outcomes Assessment Database. This database was created to collect outcomes assessment data in a uniform and systematic manner from academic, academic support, and administrative units on campus. The extensive participation is evident in the database User List. It is designed to around the standard quality improvement cycle of planning, implementing, measuring, and acting on the measurement results to improve. Thus, it is dynamic and capable of collecting data that can be used in the annual planning processes. The data in this system will also be static from September 10 to November 10.
